Understanding Sizing Systems
Learn about the differences between international bra sizing standards
Band sizes: US and UK use the same band numbering (28, 30, 32, 34, etc.) measured in inches.
Cup sizes: Generally aligned, but can differ in larger cup sizes. UK sizing typically extends further into larger cups.
Band sizes: EU uses centimeters (60, 65, 70, 75, etc.). Each EU size increases by 5cm, roughly equivalent to 2 inches.
Cup sizes: Uses letters similar to US/UK, but the measurement method and progression may differ slightly between countries.
Band sizes: Uses descriptive sizes (XS, S, M, L, XL) rather than numerical measurements. Less precise but easier to understand.
Cup sizes: Often maintains letter designations but may combine or simplify cup progressions for broader categories.
Sister sizes have the same cup volume but different band-to-cup ratios. For example, 34C, 36B, and 32D are sister sizes.
When to use: If your band size is unavailable, you can go up a band size and down a cup size (or vice versa) for similar fit.
- Always verify conversions with the specific brand, as sizing can vary
